Veu Privacy Policy Privacy details for Veu, an Android voice keyboard that processes speech and writing on your device. Learn what stays local and how to remove it.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This policy explains how Veu, an Android voice keyboard, accesses and handles information. It applies to Veu specifically. The general Xavi Esteve Privacy Policy explains broader privacy rights and contact options.

Who is responsible

Veu is developed by Xavi Esteve, an individual based in Spain. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected] or use the contact page.

Information Veu accesses and uses

Microphone audio. Veu accesses the microphone only after you start dictation, Compose, or Polish and grant microphone permission. Veu processes the audio on your device to carry out the action you requested. It does not upload or store recordings on Veu servers, and it does not send your audio to an online speech or AI service. Audio is held temporarily in device memory while the action runs.

Text in the active field. As a keyboard, Veu sends the characters you type to the active app so they appear in that app. For editing, Veu may read up to 256 characters before the cursor when you delete a word, or one character when it handles spacing. This is processed on your device and is not retained or sent to Veu or an online service. Veu does not read or send the surrounding field text for its spoken writing actions.

Preferences. Veu stores settings on your device, such as language choices, custom vocabulary, writing instructions, and references to model files you select. They are kept in Veu’s app-private Android storage. These settings remain until you clear Veu’s app storage or uninstall Veu. Veu does not require an account and does not maintain a transcript or message history.

Model files. You choose and open compatible model files through Android’s file picker. Veu stores the selected file reference and opens the file for local processing. Downloaded files remain in the location where you saved them until you delete them. The storage provider you choose may handle access to the file under its own privacy practices.

Sharing and external services

Veu does not send audio, text read from the active field, writing instructions, or generated text to Veu servers. Veu has no ads, analytics, or crash-reporting service, and contains no account system.

If you choose a model download link, Veu opens it in your browser. The browser and model provider may receive ordinary request information, such as your IP address and technical request details. Veu does not include your recordings or typed text in those requests. The browser and provider handle that information under their own privacy policies.

Android’s backup and restore services may include Veu preferences if you have enabled backup. Android and your backup provider control that service and its retention. Text you insert into another app is handled under that app’s privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

Audio and text used for an action are processed temporarily on your device and are not kept by Veu as a transcript or history. You can remove Veu’s saved preferences by clearing its app storage in Android settings or uninstalling Veu. You must remove downloaded model files separately from the locations where you saved them. You can also manage or disable Android backup in your device settings.

Your privacy rights

Veu does not maintain an online account or send your voice or keyboard text to the developer. For any personal information you provide when contacting the developer, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability, or object to processing, by emailing [email protected]. The general Privacy Policy describes the rights process and applicable data protection authorities.

Children

Veu is a general productivity tool and is not designed for children under 13.

Changes

This policy may be updated when Veu’s data handling changes. The date above shows when it was last revised.
