Cron Job Visualizer

See every job in your crontab in order of execution. I couldn't find anything that helped me analyze performance bottlenecks in my crontabs, so I built this. Paste your full crontab below and press Generate.

The tool will calculate a maximum of 50 jobs per line, 500 jobs in total, up to 7 days in the future and max. 10k char length. If you need more of anything just send me an email :)

Paste your full cronjob above and click Generate, results will appear here

How it works

A crontab line has five time fields followed by the command: minute hour day-of-month month day-of-week command. For example, */15 9-18 * * 1-5 /var/www/sync.sh runs every 15 minutes between 9:00 and 18:59, Monday to Friday. Reading a long crontab line by line makes it hard to see what runs when.

The visualizer works out the next run times of every job from the start date you choose and lists them as a single timeline, grouped by day. Each job gets its own colour, and the gap between runs is shown, so you can quickly see:

Lines that are empty or start with # are skipped. Standard cron syntax is supported, including ranges (1-5), lists (1,15,30), steps (*/5) and names such as MON or JAN. It uses the open-source cron-expression library to calculate run dates.
