Lead Technical Director - Maya TD

At Mondo TV in Tenerife we are seeking a Technical Director for our new Animation Studio in the Canary Islands. As a TD you’ll be responsible for fully monitoring our CG animation pipeline, understanding how to optimize it and providing support to our team of artists by revising processes and writing tools to best fit the production needs.

Responsibilities

- Provide support and development of tools and procedures to enhance the pipeline- Build small tools or scripts to help urgent daily tasks- Help artists troubleshooting issues with modeling, animation, effects and rendering to ensure that the workflow is operating smoothly- Work closely with other Technical Directors, Department Heads and Supervisors to maintain and further the production pipeline- Help to standardize tools, libraries, frameworks and workflows- Support the integration and adoption of new technologies to keep the studio updated with the ongoing technical evolution

Requirements

- 3+ years of Production experience in computer animation, visual effects, or game industry- Advanced Maya experience and strong Python scripting and programming skills- Familiarity with render farm software- Knowledge of Shotgun is a plus- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement- Availability to relocate to Santa Cruz de Tenerife- A valid EU work permit is necessary- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Fluent in English (both written and spoken) with Spanish as a plus
