How to play
Placement.
Each player has three pieces: rock, paper, scissors. Take turns placing one piece on any empty cell.
Movement.
Once a piece is on the board, on a later turn you may move it to any adjacent cell, including diagonals.
Capturing.
Move a piece onto an adjacent enemy piece to attack. Rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, paper beats rock. If you win, the enemy piece is destroyed; you occupy the cell. If you lose, your piece is destroyed instead, and the enemy stays put. Same type can't attack each other.
Cooldown.
A destroyed piece goes back to its owner's hand, but it skips their next turn before it can be placed again. Captures cost the defender real tempo, so the game can't stall forever.
Refilling.
Once its cooldown is over, a piece in your hand can be placed again on any empty cell instead of moving.
Winning.
Get three of your own pieces in a row, column, or diagonal, regardless of type.
Draws.
If the same position comes up three times, or a player has no legal move at all, the game is a draw.
