The Company

Tradeit is a startup that was founded in London October 2017. Tradeit is focused on solving the problems that exist in the importing and exporting of seafood in the aquaculture sector.

Tradeit has its headquarters in London and has recently opened an office in Norway as well as an office in Ecuador.

After the 2nd round of funding Tradeit is now in a position to open an office in Madrid which will serve as the technical headquarters from where the Tradeit proprietary platform will be built and maintained going forward.

The opportunity

We are at the beginning of our journey to build from scratch our bespoke new platform.

The right candidate will help determine the technologies and development methodologies that we will use, define our target architecture.

The right candidate will be given the authority to recruit their team to then go on and implement the solution.The role

This role is for the Principal Software Engineer reporting into the CTO of Tradeit LTD. Our CTO is from the UK and he relocated to Madrid 2 years ago. He brings with him a vast amount of ecommerce experience.

We are currently setting up the Madrid office which will be the location of the company IT Function and the role will be based in Madrid.

This is a unique opportunity to join an agile fast moving startup that is currently in the process of expansion. Working closely with the CTO, the right candidate will be given the scope to shape and define the greenfield platform we are building.

This role will encompass managing a technical team, recruiting, interacting with products owners and closely collaborating with the Creative Director.

For the first phase we will be recruiting a scrum team with 6-8 full time employees.

Duties include

Define the target architecture, technologies and SDLCAnalyse user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.Design and develop user interfaces for the platform by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms..Keep your knowledge up to date by researching new web technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Supports and develops web application developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
