PHP Senior Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a software and hardware related multinational looking for a software engineer and full-stack developer to join an agile, international R&D team with highly skilled specialists in charge of the design, implementation, roll-out and support of in-house business applications based on a modern LAMP stack and our own custom technology which we continuously evolve, researching new technology as we go, all of which is built on top of Free Software.

We develop a significant part of our key software in-house, including challenging, customer-facing applications for technical-related activities. We offer a long-term, stable position where the engineer is expected to deliver value to the company and grow as a professional. We do not employ any interns, hire for the short term, rely on consultancy companies or do any outsourcing of our people. What we need we build, both on technology and personal levels.

For this position we require a minimum of 4 years of full-time professional experience on web application development with PHP and JavaScript.

WHAT WE NEED

• English language: CEFR B2 (FCE) an absolute minimum; C1 (CAE) desired

• At least 4 years of professional experience with PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3

• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL

• Strong experience with GNU/Linux as a power user - you will use nothing else here

• Passion for technology and software development, taking pride in doing quality over quantity

• Ability to engage with business stakeholders, provide technological insight and guidance, analyze business needs and design an appropriate solution.

  BONUS SKILLS

• Bonus programming languages we value and love: Python, Perl, Lisp and more

• Experience implementing web services (preferrably RESTful stuff)
