JavaScript / Front-End Developer

We are looking for an exceptional JavaScript / Front-End Developer to work in our Barcelona office in 2017. WDG is a digital agency based in Switzerland specialising in bringing beautiful design to the corporate world particularly in Investor Relations, Marketing and UX. Our clients are some of the largest Swiss institutions in the world - private banks, pharmaceutical companies, fashion industry, luxury goods etc.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously rather let our work do the talking....we've stayed low key and are now pushing out and looking to set up a nearshore operation in Barcelona. This developer role requires a talented candidate with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for the web to develop class-leading solutions that match our clients’ demands. The ideal candidate will be have an incredible eye for detail, with a talent for matching requirements to the client’s voice.

JavaScript / Front-End Developer

What you will do

• You will produce high quality, unit tested software in line with team procedures for some of the biggest clients in the world • You will work in a close-knit team and contribute to the sizing of proposed software developments; • You will contribute to the planning and design of the software, during sprint planning; • You will provide daily feedback on how the sprint is progressing, raising any impediments.

We ask

• You have a university degree in a technically oriented discipline; • You know how to use JavaScript (+ HTML/CSS, Angular, TypeScript, jQuery) to develop state-of-the-art software – 80% of development time is related to front end development; • Experience with the following additional technologies is not required but appreciated: Java EE, Servlets, Subversion, Eclipse – 20% of development time is related to java based back end development; • You have a strong ability to design effective solutions and influence design decisions; • You have excellent debugging and analytical skills; • You have intelligent risk taking tendencies - you are not afraid to fail, but fail fast, and learn from the mistakes making everyone around you better for it; • You like to interact with your colleagues and enjoy animated discussions.
