Illustrator / Interface Designer

Come and join XING’s User Experience team of over 50 dedicated copywriters, interaction designers, visual designers and user researchers. We work with product owners, product managers and developers to create products that deliver real value to our users. We explore new opportunities, technologies and services, and continuously test and optimise our products to meet our users' needs.As an illustrator and interface designer, you are part of a central design team that shapes XING’s future design direction by working with product teams to deliver cross-product initiatives.

A challenging task:• Make a difference with illustrations that will put a smile on our users’ faces.• Coin a unique illustration style for XING’s icons and graphics. • Ensure that this XING illustration style can easily be reproduced by our wider UX team.• Teach our wider UX team how to do basic illustrations on their own.• Create a coherent look and feel across all our products and platforms.• Develop designs for new features and enhancements in close collaboration with the product owner and interaction designer, based on concepts, prototypes, user tests and data analytics.• Apply user-centric thinking to come up with solutions our users will love to use.• Work closely with the platform teams to synchronise defined design standards.

A convincing background:• You are able to communicate clearly and to foster a strong team bond.• You are a highly-skilled illustrator. • You think outside the box and come up with new design concepts, illustrations and layouts.• You can communicate your design solutions eloquently and convincingly.• You are passionate about tech.• You are intrinsically motivated to both point out problems and suggest solutions. • You have a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in interface/illustration/graphic design or a related field – or you are a career changer with extensive relevant experience.• You have an online portfolio or samples of your work you can show to demonstrate your experience.• You are fluent in English.• Knowledge in web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) is a plus.• Motion graphic design skills are also advantageous.
