YOUR ROLE - SUMMARY

Account Executives are responsible for the day-to-day detail on an account. You’re the person everyone turns to for key information about the account, a client’s business and any given project. You are very strong at admin – especially financial. You support your Account Manager and learn from doing all the administrative jobs, so that your Account Manager is freed-up and can focus on the challenges facing their business. You should know your clients’ brands and competition inside out.

DEVELOPING RELATIONSHIPS AND TRUST

With clients• Develop a thorough understanding of your client’s business and demonstrate a passion for their brand and the industry• Be brilliant at the basics – for example desk research, telephone inquiries, minuting, status reports, proof-checking, printing and copying, filing and archiving and scheduling meetings• Be organised and prepared prior to any brief or client meeting. Be ready to contribute and make sure everything is buttoned down and reflects well on the agency – the meeting room, the catering, reception, the equipment, the necessary documents and the work

And colleagues• Share trend and innovation information on a regular basis to inspire the team• Assist Account Managers on writing proposals, project plans, budgets and schedules• Go above & beyond what your line manager asks you for. Be proactive• Support with wider agency initiatives such as pitches or company events

Creativity • Develop a strong understanding of the creative work – form an opinion which you can discuss with your line manager

Strategy• Get close to the planning team and learn from them. • Understand how all projects ladder up to the bigger brand strategy• Assist Account Managers in writing smaller project briefs with input from planning.

Commerciality• Understanding of the ins and outs of the client/agency contract and you are fully versed in the clients’ financial planning cycle/accounting system• Strong basic commercial knowledge – for example understand the difference between revenue (billing) and profit and how the agency makes its money• Work with Account Manager and PM to ensure all jobs are scheduled on time, to budget and are monitored using the right processes

You should be confident, curious and keen to learn. You are entrepreneurial, ambitious and conscientious. You are a people person. And yes, you’ll be hot on admin !

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in a ‘customer-facing’ role – this can include other sectors such as retail and hospitality • Be able to demonstrate skills in building/maintaining strong relationships internally and externally• Demonstrate top quality organisational and admin skills• Understand and have a genuine interest in marketing, advertising and media• Be fluent in English - we run the business in English • Love cats and dogs
