So you don’t want to waste any money in iPhone stands nor care about looks. You are looking for a stand where you can have your iPhone in portrait mode to read, listen to music and use most apps and also in landscape mode to watch movies too. You are lucky because thanks to one of the best inventions in the world… Yes! you got it right, the toilet paper roll! With just a single roll we can create a highly customized iPhone stand without too much effort or complex professional tools. It will just take you 60 seconds to create (without counting step 1). Instructions

Listado de proyectos

Se hace una lista de proyectos/tareas a realizar en total y la prioridad basada en las ventajas de tenerlos terminados al final del día. Cada proyecto de la lista se desgrana en todas las pequeñas tareas y éstas se traducen en horas. La traducción en horas debe ser contando todo el tiempo que requiriera, no sólo el trabajo en sí, si no también si hay que leerse algún texto, etc. Los descansos se calculan después.

Distribución de horas

Ahora hacemos una lista de los participantes y cuantas horas puede aportar cada uno (si uno de ellos cocina o lo que sea se descontará ese tiempo). Se decide quien será el participante más idóneo para hacer de Master y se le calcula que tiene un 30% menos de tiempo para hacer otras tareas. De entre estas dos listas se piensa la combinación de proyectos a hacer para que al final se salga con el mas provecho posible, la idea es enfocarlo a resultados instantáneos y no tanto a largo plazo. Los proyectos que no han sido elegidos se dejan al “congelador”.

El papel del Master

Su objetivo es garantizar que no se pierda tiempo con obstáculos que puedan surgir.

1. Punto de contacto. Sabe como esta todo en todo momento y todos los participantes acuden al Master por cualquier cosa, preguntas, comentarios o lo que sea. Los participantes entre sí no se deben “robar” tiempo entre ellos por ayuda o comentarios, el Master verá cuando es el mejor momento ya que sacar tiempo.
2. Filtro. Actúa como filtro para evitar las distracciones entre participantes u otras personas (atiende las llamadas, contesta emails de terceros), así se consigue que éstos no se distraigan ni tengan que parar perdiendo la concentración y la embrenzida.
3. Solución. Escucha cualquier problema, duda o pregunta y si puede, lo resuelve él o se encarga de buscar la manera de resolverlo. Si no lo sabe él o necesita ayuda de algún otro participante entonces calcula cuando es el mejor momento y de donde sacar tiempo de otro participante.
4. Dirección. Tiene que ver como está yendo el Sprint y enderezarlo si se está torciendo o mejorarlo si cree que se puede organizar mejor el tiempo.

El Burn-Out

Es una gráfica muy sencilla de tiempo por cantidad de trabajo y su evolución. A medida que se va trabajando la cantidad de trabajo va bajando. Tiene forma de triángulo rectángulo con pendiente hacia la derecha. Es muy útil para ver si se está yendo bien de tiempo, sobra, en falta …

En esta gráfica se ve un proyecto de 60 horas que se hace en 30 días. El estimacion (en azul) es trabajar dos horas al día, la realidad (en rojo) dependerá de los obstáculos con los que nos vamos encontrando y se intentara seguir la linea azul. Como se ve, el proyecto empieza bien pero hacia el día 10 comienzan a haber problemas y nos salimos de la línea de estimacion. Entonces nos ponemos las pilas y volvemos a enderezar.

Sprint

La mejor administracion de tiempo durante el Sprint se utilizando la Técnica Pomodoro que básicamente viene a ser esto:

• Se hacen etapas de 25 minutos
• Se descansa 5 minutos
• Cada 4 rondas informa al Master y este actualiza la lista de mini-tareas desde la que se ve la línea de burn-out, después se descansan 15-20 minutos
• Cada 4 horas se hace un descanso más largo de 1 hora (para comer o lo que sea)

Filosofia

La idea del Sprint es aprovechar el tiempo para poder trabajar mejor, no hay que estresarse, simplemente no malgastar tiempo.

Conclusion de resultados

Una vez se termina el Sprint evalúa lo que se ha conseguido y se comentan los próximos proyectos o tareas teniendo en cuenta lo bien que han hecho las estimaciones de tiempo y como acertar las mejor la proxima vez.

There are so many reasons why a WiFi Internet connection doesn’t work as expected that it is usually very difficult to fix it and it can be very frustrating. By following these 10 steps you will fix your wireless Internet connection at home with your laptop pr desktop computer. Some of them are obvious things to check and some of them are pretty effective tricks you may have not heard about, read them all and check the list from top to bottom.

1. Reset the router

Reset your router. Then  full hard reset your router.

2. Change the channel

Choose a network channel that is free or at least not too busy. Use WiFi Scanner (free, OSX) or NetStumbler (free, Windows) to see which ones are used near your home or around you.

3. Change the interface

Change your router’s Interface Type to 802.11n. This ensures you have the fastest rate and signal plus avoids many external interferences. Before doing so check that all your devices are compatible (if they are less than 3 years old they’re good to go). While you are in the router’s configuration, set it up as agressive, increasing the signal strength and focus on performance rather than savings. If your router can’t support 802.11n then buy a better router, they are not expensive and it will definitely make the difference.

4. Clear the path

Clear the path between your computer and the router. Avoiding as many objects as possible. Look carefully for metals, wall corners and mirrors. Remember that moving the router up or down (i.e. from a table to the floor) may be easier than moving a heavy drawer.

5. Change the password

Change the password of your WiFi network every 3 months and make it stronger (password and encryption) to avoid anyone from getting in and sucking your broadband.

6. Avoid interferences

A microwave may be causing interferences so try moving things around the room. It can also be your neighbour’s electrical devices so keep moving stuff until it works.

7. Check the bandwidth usage

If you are in a shared flat, check that your flatmates don’t have any P2P programs, online games, video streaming or VoIP software like Skype. If they are using them, ask them to limit it to something proportional so everyone has the same share. If it can’t be limited, ask them to do one thing at a time.

8. Look for viruses

Make sure all the computers and devices connected to the network are 100% virus free. If any device has a virus it may be constantly sending tons of data to the Internet and collapsing your network, even some mobile phones can be stressing it.

9. Check the cables

Check that the broadband cable from the router to the plug is straight and away from pipes or other electrical wires. If you can’t avoid these then try not to twist the cable and place it as straight as possible.

10. Improve your equipment

Consider one of these small investments: getting a better Internet connection, buying a better router or even buying a better antenna for it. Also check out a powerline ethernet adapter which is a cheap system that uses the electric network as an Ethernet cable and works very well. You can get them for £20-$£60, if you want to play online multiplayer games make sure you get at least 200Mbps.

Before doing anything make sure that you know what you are doing. If you don’t know what something means then search on the Internet for it and learn. If none of the above work then call your Internet provider and explain all the steps you have made so far.

1. Mostrar las aplicaciones activas en segundo plano

Algunas aplicaciones pueden funcionar en segundo plano, es decir, mientras estás en una aplicación, otra sigue activa aunque no la veas. Esto es realmente útil para aplicaciones como Skype. Lo abres una vez y se mantiene online permitiéndote trabajar con otras aplicaciones y a la vez aparecer online en Skype y que tus contactos te puedan llamar.

Para ver la lista de aplicaciones haz doble click en el boton cuadrado (). Aparecerán debajo, puedes moverte a derecha e izquierda para ver más y si mantienes pulsada un icono durante un rato aparecerá una crucecita roja con la que podrás cerrar la aplicación definitivamente.

2. Escribir vocales con acentos, letra eÑe y más

Manteniendo el dedo presionado sobre una tecla del teclado nos mostrará acentos, eñes y otros caracteres especiales.

3. Tecla Bloquear Mayúsculas en el teclado del iPhone

Hacer doble-click en la tecla Mayúsculas (la flecha hacia arriba) y se volverá azul y podremos escribir en mayúsculas todo el rato.

4. Quitar lo de “Enviado desde mi iPhone”

Cada vez que envías un email en la firma pone “Enviado desde mi iPhone” que es pesado para los destinatarios además de impersonal y cutre. Para cambiar la firma por tu nombre ves a Ajustes > Correo, contactos, cal… y baja hasta Firma.

5. Controlar los botones de los auriculares

• Click arriba = Subir volumen
• Click abajo = Bajar volumen
• 1 click en el medio = Pausa
• 2 clicks en el medio = Pista siguiente
• 2 clicks y aguanta el último = Rebobinar hacia delante
• 3 clicks en el medio = Pista anterior
• Mantener apretado en el medio hasta oír sonido = Te dice el nombre de la canción y el artista
• Mantener apretado en el medio un rato más = Control de voz

6. Mostrar el porcentaje en números de la batería restante

Ajustes > General > Uso y activar Carga de la batería.

7. Bloquear la orientación

Cuando giras el iPhone está muy bien porque la pantalla gira y se adapta a la gravedad. Pero hay veces que no quieres que se gire, por ejemplo cuando estás estirado en el sofá. Para bloquear la orientación haced doble click sobre el botón cuadrado () para que aparezcan las tareas en segundo plano y arrastrad con el dedo hacia la izquierda para que aparezca el botón gris a la izquierda de la imagen.

8. Hacer un screenshot de la pantalla del iPhone

Apretar el botón de arriba (), mantener y apretar el botón cuadrado ().

9. Copiar/pegar texto y guardar imágenes

Mantener el dedo apretando unos segundos en la pantalla sin soltarlo hasta que aparezca el botón Copiar.

Si estás encima de un texto o número de teléfono aparecerá un botón de Copiar. Así podremos copiar un número de teléfono por ejemplo.

Si estamos en un texto o mensaje podremos arrastrar las bolitas azules y seleccionar exactamente los caracteres que queremos.

Si estamos navegando por Internet y mantenemos el dedo encima de una imagen nos aparecerá un menú para poder guardar la imagen en nuestro teléfono.

Mientras escribimos, si mantenemos el dedo se puede mover el cursor a un lugar preciso para corregir la ortografía o cambiar palabras.

10. Instalar aplicaciones en el iPhone (desde el principio)

Registrarse con Apple

Para poder instalar aplicaciones necesitarás tener una cuenta de iTunes App Store. Ves a la web de Apple y registra una cuenta allí (también puedes hacerlo a través del iPhone pero es más lento ya que el formulario de registro es muy largo). Regístrate y sigue todos los pasos… (regístrate por la App Store en vez de por iTunes si no quieres introducir una tarjeta de crédito)

Instalando aplicaciones

Ahora que ya tienes cuenta, abre el iconito App Store (de color azul con una A en blanco) y empieza a descargar aplicaciones. Cuidado con las aplicaciones de pago, en dos clicks se compran y no hay vuelta atrás. Algunas aplicaciones que son obligatorias tener:

Aplicaciones gratuitas fundamentales

• Facebook
• Twitter
• Skype: llamadas y videollamadas gratis a PCs y otros móviles
• Remote: controla el iTunes de tu ordenador con el iPhone
• Viber: llamadas de alta calidad gratuitas entre iPhones
• Light: linterna gratuita
• TV3 a la carta: para ver el canal TV3 y 324 en directo desde tu iPhone
• VLC: para copiar vídeos, pelis y series a tu iPhone
• SpanishDict: traductor Español-Inglés
• Wikihood: te muestra todos los puntos de interés turístico que tienes cerca
• 20minutos.es: noticias
• LFP: información en directo sobre la Liga

Aplicaciones de pago fundamentales

• WhatsApp: envia mensajes gratis a otros iPhones, BlackBerries y Androids

11. Configurar el correo electrónico (email) en el iPhone

Si tienes GMail puedes sincronizar tu correo, calendarios y contactos siguiendo estos pasos. Si tienes Hotmail sigue estos pasos.

Apretar el botón cuadrado () durante 3 segundos hasta oír el sonidito. Existen muchas órdenes que puedes decir:

Listas de amigos de Facebook

Las listas de amigos son un metodo muy util de agrupar a tus amigos acorde a su relacion contigo (familia, companeros de trabajo, universidad, etc…)

La ventaja que tenemos es que podemos usar las Listas de Amigos como Listas de Acceso. Explicado a continuacion:

Planeando las Listas de Acceso de Facebook

Vamos a crear una lista por cada tipo de acceso. Estas son las listas de acceso que tengo configuradas actualmente:

• 01 – Estado y enlaces (los amigos en este grupo podran ver actualizaciones de estado, Intereses y de que grupos soy fan)
• 02 – Wall Posts (podran ver los mensajes del muro y escribir en el)
• 03 – Fotos (podran ver mis fotos)
• 04 – Videos (los videos son un poco mas delicados que las fotos asi que prefiero separar su acceso, por ejemplo, algunos familiares o mi jefe no quiero que vean algunos videos en los que salgo)
• 05 – Educacion y Trabajo (podran ver informacion de trabajo y mis estudios)
• 07 – Info de Contacto (podran ver donde vivo, mi numero de telefono, mi e-mail y demas informacion de contacto)
• 00 – NADA (la gente en este grupo no podra ver nada de nada aparte de la foto de perfil, perfecto para aquella gente que tienes en el Facebook y no conoces de nada, normalmente seran gente que has agregado para tener mas puntos en el algun juego de Facebook: FarmVille, Mobwars, etc. o gente que agregaste estando borracho/a y ni te acuerdas)

CONSEJO: Usa un prefijo tipo “01 - ” para diferenciar entre las listas de amigos y las de acceso.

Puedes crear mas listas y ser todo lo especifico que quieras (separar educacion de trabajo, etc.) aunque con esta configuraciontu cuenta de Facebook ya estara muy protegida. Una vez hayas acabado de configurar las listas, vamos a crearlas.

Crear Listas de Acceso en Facebook

NOTA: Las imagenes estan en ingles aunque siguiendo las instrucciones que os doy podeis llegar perfectamente, si no entendeis algun paso preguntadlo en los comentarios al final del post y lo actualizo :-)

Ves a Amigos:

Haz clic en Crear una lista arriba a la derecha:

Ahora escribe el nombre del primer grupo de acceso: 01 – Estado y enlaces.

Selecciona aquellos amigos que quieras que tengan acceso a tu estado y enlaces. Sigue este proceso hasta que hayas creado todas las listas de acceso.

Por ultimo, crea la lista 00 – NADA. Este grupo no tendra acceso a nada (aunque pertenezca a otros grupos).

Configurando las Listas de Acceso en Opciones de Privacidad

Ahora que tenemos todas las listas creadas, accede a Cuenta y luego a Configuracion de privacidad:

Recorre todas las secciones que encuentres:

Y en cada una selecciona Personalizar:

Al clicar en Personalizar aparecera una ventanita. En Hacer esto visible a selecciona Personalizar y selecciona la/s lista/s que mas se adapten a ese apartado. En Ocultar a selecciona 00 – NADA.

Aqui tienes un ejemplo de mi configuracion para que amigos pueden ver mi numero de telefono movil:

Sigue haciendo esto con todos los apartados. Una vez termines te quedara algo como esto:

Mantenimiento de las Listas de Acceso en Facebook

Si necesitas agregar o quitar a gente de las listas de acceso lo puedes hacer facilmente siguiendo estos pasos. Haz click en Amigos:

Apareceran todas las listas que tienes creadas. Clica en la lista que quieras modificar:

Y a la derecha clica en Editar lista:

Ahora selecciona o deselecciona amigos que quieras agregar o quitar de la lista.

Confirmando y configurando nuevos amigos

Cuando confirmes un nuevo amigo:

Al darle a Confirmar aparecera un boton que pone Anadir a la lista, haz clic ahi y aparecera una ventana:

Personaliza que listas quieres que tu amigo tenga acceso. Si no lo conoces de nada agregalo simplemente a 00 – NADA y no te preocupes que no tendra acceso a nada.

Here’s a nice way to keep your privacy settings in Facebook up-to-date and secure. It is really easy to set up and you can customize every friend individually really fast and easy. I’ve been using it for the last year and my account is as secure as I want, just sharing what I want to whom I want and hiding what I don’t want to show too in an easy way to set up and maintain.

Facebook Friend lists

The friend lists are useful to group people regarding your relation with you i.e. Family, Work colleagues, University, High School, London…

But you can also use Friend lists to create Access lists. That’s what we are going to do…

Planning the Access lists

What we will do is to create a list for each type of access. Thiese are the access lists I’ve got:

• 01 – Status and Links (friends in this group will be able to see wall posts, status updates, Interests and groups I belong to)
• 02 – Wall Posts (friends here will be able to POST on your wall)
• 03 – Photos (will be able to see your photos)
• 04 – Videos (videos are usually more embarrassing/private than photos so I prefer to separate people that can see photos and videos)
• 05 – Education and Work (will be able to see Education and Work information)
• 07 – Contact info (will be able to see your address, phone number, etc.)
• 00 – NOTHING (this people will not be able to see anything! useful for those Facebook friends you don’t know at all but you’ve added through Facebook games, because they are hot, you were drunk or [insert strange reason here])

TIP: Use a prefix like “01 - ” to differentiate between Access and normal Friend lists.

Once you’ve got your lists planned (you can be more specific and differentiate between Status updates and Interests, etc…) let’s create them.

Creating Facebook Access lists

Go to Friends:

And click on Create list:

Now type in the first access group: 01 – Status and links.

Select those friends you want to be able to see your status and links. Maybe you want just some of your family members to be able to see them, or only some work colleagues.

Keep doing this with all the above groups mentioned.

Last step is to create the 00 – NOTHING group. This group will have no access to anything, I use it for those people you just add from Facebook games like Mobwars, Farmville and so, just because you need to have more friends playing it to improve in the game but they are not really your friends.

Configuring the Access lists in Facebook Privacy Settings

Now that we’ve got all our Access lists created let’s go to set them up. Click Account, Privacy settings:

Go through all the sections:

And in each item select Custom:

A popup window will show some settings.

In Make this visible to select Custom and select one or more of the Access groups you just created. In the Except select the 00 – NOTHING.

Here are my settings for Mobile phone:

Keep doing this for all the settings. Once you finish it should look something like this:

Editing Access lists later

If you need to edit Access lists later you can do that by clicking Friends:

A list of all the lists will show, select the one you want to edit:

And then click on Edit list at the top right:

And select or de-select friends.

Confirming or adding a new friend

When confirming a new friend:

An Add to list button will appear, click it and a popup window will show:

Customize your new friend’s access to your Facebook stuff. If you don’t know him/her just select the 00 – NOTHING and he/she won’t have access to anything.

This is just a quick guide for coding user scripts for Greasemonkey. You should know that a knowledge in JavaScript makes everything much easier. Then you just need to learn Greasemonkey functions to start coding.

To search without matching case, use RegEx and add the “i” flag:

GreaseMonkey Reference

Let’s get into business now! :D

Coding is just like JavaScript. we can get information from the page as if the script code was inside it.

If we type var msg = document.getElementById(‘message’).innerHTML; we will get the content from the element with message ID into our variable. We can work with it, store it or whatever.

Permanent user script variables

A nice feature is that you can store special GreaseMonkey variables. Will be stored permanently until the script is uninstalled.

To create or change bank variable with a value of 1000 we do:

GM_setValue("bank", 1000);

To get bank variable:

GM_getValue("bank", -1);

In case bank is not defined, -1 will be returned.

Inserting HTML code

Once we finish our script thingies, we would like to insert the result into the page. First of all, we create an array with all the code:

var menuCode = new Array();

And fill it:

menuCode.push('<h4>My menu</h4>');
menuCode.push('<li>Home</li>');
menuCode.push('<li>Forum</li>');

Once we get the desired code (note that you are filling a normal array, so that you can add as much JavaScript code as you want), we need to start using Greasemonkey’s functions:

Above, we have created a Div element named “menu”, supplied an ID and grabbed the menuCode array and joined it. Now that we have the menu Div created, it would be nice to empty the old array now.

Using insertBefore function, we grab the Div and insert it at the bottom.

Inserting Script and CSS Style tags

Similar to HTML but changing the way of insertion. Both CSS style and JavaScript code go inside the <style> or <script> tags inside the <head> so it’s the same way.

We create a temporary array and insert everything there:

We create the Greasemonkey element, insert the code in it and empty the old variable:

Existen muchos métodos para guardar a salvo las fotos del viaje de verano, la música, documentos de trabajo o demás. Aunque debemos tener en cuenta que hay maneras más efectivas y/o más baratas.

Lo más tradicional es grabar en CDs o DVDs. Aunque hoy en día, con la cantidad de discos USB, su rápida investigación y su abaratamiento de precio, los hacen muy prácticos y rendibles a la hora de guardar copias de seguridad.

Para poneros un ejemplo, un disco USB de 500GB (465GB reales) nos puede costar unos 65€ (Elements 500GB de Western Digital, otro ejemplo).

Si lo comparamos con DVDs o CDs, solo de pensar que en cada DVD caben 4,7GB (o en un CD 0,7GB), que tardan su tiempo en grabarse, que dependiendo de lo que queramos grabar tendremos que utilizar 5 o 6 DVDs/CDs para luego tenerlos perdidos en la librería… en un disco USB pueden caber más de 100 DVDs (o 600 CDs), se graba rápido y cómodo y no ocupa más que un libro.

Consejos de mantenimiento

Debes tener cuidado de que el medio donde grabas no se ralle, no le toque el sol, no se moje, no haya mucha humedad, cambios bruscos de temperatura…

En los DVDs, CDs y discos USB debemos chequear los datos periódicamente y regrabarlos en otros discos nuevos cada 2-5 años ya que se degradan con el tiempo y pueden llegar a dañarse.

Tener dos o más copias de seguridad. Una no vale.

No es recomendable adquirir discos USB (o cualquier otro sistema) que acaben de salir al mercado con alguna nueva tecnología o chorradita, aún no se han testeado por los consumidores reales a gran escala y a veces ha habido más de un disgusto. Antes de comprar, interésate por qué opinan los que ya tienen uno.

Si el viaje ha sido con amigos o familiares, hacerles llegar las fotos/datos para que tengan también una copia. Así, en caso extremo de que no dispongamos de ninguna copia nosotros mismos, siempre podemos acudir a otra persona a quien seguramente acabemos invitando a una cerveza.

Ya un poco más extremo pero de “nunca se sabe” es el de guardar copias de seguridad en lugares distintos (casa, casa de los abuelos, trabajo…) por si lo roban o hay algún desastre.

Dependiendo del tipo de información, es aconsejable encriptar los datos. No querrás que un desgraciado cuelque en YouTube el vídeo que no querrías que viera nadie. Algo fácil es TrueCrypt (link a un tutorial fácil y sencillo de cómo usarlo).

La mayoría de dispositivos electrónicos de hoy en día (como móviles, iPods, ordenadores portátiles, cámaras de fotos y de vídeo…) utilizan batería Li-ion. Puedes comprobar si es Li-ion leyendo el texto impreso en la propia batería.

Para empezar, debemos tener en cuenta que NO funcionan como las demás baterías antiguas (como las de níquel-cadmio por ejemplo).

Las baterías Li-ion nuevas se deben estrenar sin recargar al tope, tal como vienen de fábrica (un 40% de la carga).

Se deben descargar parcialmente, que está no llegue nunca a estar vacía del todo. Excepto los ordenadores portátiles o baterías de semejante o mayor tamaño, que se deben vaciar cada 30 cargas.

No pasa nada si se deja la batería conectada a la corriente una vez está cargada al tope aunque si puedes, mejor desenchufa la batería.

Siempre es mejor cargar la batería con el cargador de corriente antes que el USB ya que suelen ser más precisos, eficientes y pueden recargar hasta tres veces más rápido.

Si no se va a usar el dispositivo durante varios meses, lo más recomendable es que se guarde con un 40% de carga y nunca descargada completamente (puede provocar daños irreparables).

Como curiosidad, las baterías Li-ion duran entre 500 y 1000 cargas, aproximadamente entre 2 y 3 años.
