CHEAPEST and BEST Mobile Phone Company in the UK After trying several mobile phone network companies such as Orange, Tesco and Vodafone I’ve finally found the best mobile phone network company in the United Kingdom. I’ve never blogged about a topic like this but had to spread this. It’s called GiffGaff and it is by far the cheapest and best of them all. Check the […]

giffgaff goodybags

For just £10 a month you get unlimited Internet (6GB per month!!!), unlimited texts to UK phones, 250 minute calls to UK and unlimited free calls to other GiffGaff (convinced all to switch and now we chat for free all the time we want). Best of all, you can order a SIM card for free and they send it in 3 days, follow this link to get a SIM card.

Questions people usually ask

What is the network coverage quality?

Things I’m buying on Amazon this week

Uses the O2 network which offers the best network in United Kingdom.

Is there a permanent/fixed-term contract required?

You can cancel any time. If you don’t like it you can switch to any other mobile network company whenever you want. Period. No need to tell them or pay fees.

Can I keep my old number?

Yes, and it is very easy to do. When you receive your SIM they give you a new number. You get the £10 goodybag and try it for a month. If you like it, go to the website and use your old number in 10 minutes (ask for a PAC code to your current company and then in giffgaff.com you fill in a form). They switch your number during the night so you don’t have any downtime.

Are there any hidden fees or small print?

None, I like this company because they keep it simple, what you see is what you get. And whenever there’s been an outage (1 time in the last 12 months) they compensate very generously.

Can I get a phone with it?

Nope… for that cheap and without contracts they can’t offer free phones but with the money you save you can buy an unblocked phone and still save money. I bought an unlocked iPhone and have been using GiffGaff for the past several months so saved quite a lot of money. If you can’t afford it go to the Carphone Warehouse in which you can get Android smartphones with Internet, camera and Facebook for as little as £70.

Can I go on a contract mode instead of Pay-As-You-Go?

You can set up automatic top-up which frees you from the hassle of toping up, pretty much like a contract and even better since you can cancel the auto-top-up at any time.

How is the customer service like?

GiffGaff is has an awesome call center but best of all is the forum in their website. Other giffgaffers can help people and get free credit and cash to answer questions which is like having thousands of employees available to help at any time.

How about roaming and international calls?

They are surprisingly cheap:

  • All EU countries, Australia, Andorra, Croatia, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland, India, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Montenegro, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Vatican City: 8p/min landlines, 16p/min mobiles, 8p/text, £1.50 per MB
  • USA and Canada: 8p/min landlines and mobiles, 8p/text, £5 per MB
  • Other countries: £1/min, 20p text, £5 per MB
When you visit another country you get a free text from GiffGaff with the updated tariffs in there so no need to remember this.

250 minutes is not enough for me, is there anything else?

Simple Cloud Hosting Built for Developers

I’ve been using the £10 (250 minutes) for the past several months and never reached the limit but if you speak a lot on your phone you can pay £15 a month and get 400 minutes, or for £20 you get 800 minutes per month, for £25 you get 1500 minutes… All of these are with unlimited Internet, texts and GiffGaff calls included so you may want to get your frequent callers to switch to GiffGaff and then you keep the 250 minutes for infrequent calls.

YEAH! Where do I get my free SIM card?!

It is free to get them to send a SIM to your house. Use the link below to get £5 extra credit -I get that too- since it is some kind of recommendation gift. Remember: Make sure to get a Goodybag, not credit. Request a SIM card here

+10 for you! GiffGaff rules mate!
Ordering my SIM through your link while typing this, £5 more of credit thanks to you plus all the money I am going to save, I was paying like £40 a month for much less than what they offer and you say it works, thanks a LOT!
